Consultant | Latin American and Modern Art
Christina Warner specializes in Modern and Contemporary art with a concentration in Latin American art.
She began her career at Citibank Art Advisory in 2002, where she learned the fundamentals of art advisory. From there, she went on to work for Christie’s auction house in New York where she acquired an understanding of the auction industry. She broadened her knowledge of Impressionist and Modern art as the Assistant Director of the Helly Nahmad Gallery in New York from 2005 until 2012. There, she was responsible for collection management, client relationships, and all coordination and marketing at the Art Basel in Basel, Switzerland and the Art Basel Miami Beach Fairs. She also helped organize biannual exhibitions of celebrated artists such as Francis Bacon, Max Ernst, Wassily Kandinsky, Fernand Léger, Amedeo Modigliani, and Pablo Picasso. Through this experience, she not only developed expertise in the secondary market but also cultivated an adept knowledge of the primary market by independently curating pop-up exhibitions. In 2012, she joined Artnet Auctions as a Senior Specialist in Modern, Contemporary, and Latin American art. Interested in exploring the intersection of fine art and technology, she sourced, curated, and catalogued and sold artworks for both online auctions and private sales. Through her various experiences, Christina realized that her niche was in bridging the gap between new art collectors, artists, and the established art world. Christina’s art advisory, CW Contemporary, was born to teach those who are unfamiliar with the art world and add to the knowledge of veteran collectors.
She earned her B.A. in Art History and Spanish Literature from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. She is fluent in Spanish. Christina Warner lives and works in New York with both a local and international client base.
